First Camp at MMSC, Chennai
California Superbike School (CSS) set up its first camp in India at the MMSC Track, Chennai — the first time CSS came to South East Asia. Founded by Keith Code, the world’s foremost on-track motorcycle instructor, the school began training Indian riders in world-class techniques of cornering and control.
CSS India rider Sarath Kumar broke new ground by entering the 125cc class of MotoGP. His journey from Chennai’s MMSC track to the world stage highlighted the school’s commitment to developing Indian racing talent.
British Supersport Champion Leon Camier joined as a guest coach for the CSS Chennai Camp, inspiring riders with his expertise.
CSS India continued expanding its reach, training riders from across the country, focusing on building safe riding practices alongside racing skills.
CSS training methods that shaped MotoGP and World Superbike Champions like Wayne Rainey, James Toseland, John Kocinski, Thomas Lüthi, Ben & Eric Bostrom, Doug Chandler, and Tommy Hayden were now accessible in India.
By its 12th year, CSS India had trained over 1,200 students. The structured 3-day program continued to be the most effective progression of skill sets for cornering and control.
CSS completed its 13th year in India, with camps at MMSC Chennai. The focus remained on advancing riding skills and supporting Indian motorsport talent.
Entering its 14th school in India, CSS continued its dual mission: to improve every rider's safety and to discover & support young racing talent who lack access to training.
